PYP Curriculum Framework
The basic principle of the PYP curriculum is that students become active contributors and active participants in their learning. It prioritizes people and their relationships to create a good learning community.
PYP students develop their own work, responsibility and ownership of their learning. PYP students learn through inquiry and reflection on their own learning, in their own people, communities, etc. develop their knowledge, conceptual understanding, skills and characteristics of the IB Learner Profile to make a difference.
The framework addresses the organizational principles that underpin the three pillars of school life:
- Students
- Learning and Teaching
- Learning Communities.
Why offer the PYP?
The PYP focuses on the development of the child as an individual, both in school and in the world. The Year One Program drives change for students, teachers, and the entire school community and achieves positive outcomes by delivering meaningful, relevant, relevant, complex, and useful learning.
PYP students learn how to manage their own learning, working with teachers to improve their understanding, build their confidence and self-motivation. By participating in continuous assessment, they become effective, self-regulated learners who can follow advice.
